Body and Beyond Community Health Fair, March 16

The American Medical Student Association at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) will be hosting The Body and Beyond Community Health Fair, open to Rootstown, Ravenna and surrounding areas.

This free program provides health screenings and prevention education about important issues, including heart disease, diabetes, cancer, mental health, nutrition and exercise and smoking cessation. The fair will also feature workshops on foot and ankle care, heart health, and sleep.

WHEN: Saturday, March 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
WHERE: NEW Center

A physician and pharmacist will be available to answer any health-related questions. Additional features at the fair include kid-friendly activities, health information booths, prize giveaways throughout the day, and healthy food samples. Erie Island Coffee will have beverages and snacks for sale.

All Body and Beyond visitors will have free admission to Sequoia Wellness and group exercise classes:

  • 9 a.m. – Cycling
  • 9:15 a.m. – Boot Camp
  • 10:30 a.m. – Aqua Fit
  • 10:30 a.m. – Tai Chi

Visitors will also receive a complimentary two-day guest pass and a 60% discount on the enrollment.

The health fair is sponsored by the NEW Center at Northeast Ohio Medical University, Sequoia Wellness, NEOMED Student Council, and the College of Medicine.
