Brain Day events
Did you know some triggers of dementia, mental illness, autism and Parkinson’s disease are treatable? Exciting new research is redefining the upstream causes of brain disorders. Those discoveries are at the center of the first Brain Day Breakthroughs events on Oct. 8–9, 2025, hosted by several NEOMED student interest groups in neurology, pediatrics and fitness.
Target audience: Anyone interested in mental health, autism, dementia, Parkinson's disease
Two events highlight the initiative:
- Brain Day 5k Brisk Walk – October 8, 5–7 p.m., NEOMED Courtyard. $10 registration; children under 12 free.
- Brain Day Breakthroughs Lectures – October 9, 6-9 p.m., NEOMED Watanakunakorn Lecture Hall $20 admission; free for students of any age.
The program supports the Alzheimer’s Pathobiome Initiative (dementia research) and the Brain Inflammation Collaborative (researching mental illness, autism, MS).
