Call for Abstracts: The Inaugural Student Research Oral Presentation Forum

Blue field with a faint pattern of circles and a microphone icon. The words Student Research
Oral Presentation Forum are written in black text.

Are you a student researcher looking for a platform to showcase your findings? The Inaugural Student Research Oral Presentation Forum is officially inviting submissions!

The forum will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026.

This new event is designed to give NEOMED students a unique opportunity to present their work and receive comprehensive, interdisciplinary feedback. This forum features a breakout-room format designed for structured oral presentations, allowing presenters to engage directly with a diverse panel of experts including basic science faculty, clinicians, alumni and trainees (post-docs and residents).

Why Participate?

Beyond sharing your research, this forum is a strategic opportunity to enhance your competitiveness as a future applicant.

●     Stand out for residency: Oral presentations are viewed highly by program directors as evidence of professional maturity and communication mastery. Adding an oral presentation to your CV/ERAS application distinguishes you from candidates who only have poster experience.

●     Publish your work: Students may opt to have their accepted work published in Journal of Medical Sciences at NEOMED (JMS).

●     Expert feedback: Gain insights from a wide range of medical and scientific professionals.

●     Awards: Top performers will be recognized with awards following the breakout sessions.

Judging Criteria

This is the perfect environment to practice communicating complex ideas. Evaluators will focus specifically on:

●     Clarity of the research question

●     Interpretation of results

●     Ability to answer questions during Q&A

●     Overall communication skills
