Community Interprofessional Challenge, April 23

The Office of Interprofessional Education Services and the Wasson Center would like to support the first Interprofessional Community Health Challenge being held on April 23, 2017 at NEOMED. We would also like to thank the following planning committee members for your hard work and dedication towards this event:

  • Office of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
  • Fellowship in Academic Medicine - Fame
  • Bio-Med Science Academy
  • College of Medicine
  • College of Pharmacy
  • Wasson - Interprofessional Education Services

How it works:
Teams of 5 students representing at least two disciplines will be formed. Each team will put together a slide presentation and a one-page summary of suggested solutions. Teams will present their solutions to a panel of judges on April 23, 2017, at Northeast Ohio Medical University.

Sound interesting?
Would you like to be on an interprofessional team to seek solutions? It would be a great addition to your resume and you’d have the chance to meet and network with many professionals.

What are your solutions?
Robert and Emma Stevens have a problem. Their 27-year old son, Justin, has become addicted to opiates. He is out of work, his girlfriend has kicked him out of their apartment, and he is living in his parent’s home. He has been hospitalized and has used a gun to threaten his mother for money. How should the health system respond?
