MEDCAMP, a 24-hour community health marathon

MEDCAMP has been hacked—but in a good way. The 2017 event follows the popular hack-a-thon model, tailoring it to health care. Over an intense 24-hour span beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, July 14, students attending the MEDCAMP Health-a-Thon will work to develop programs that address a current community health issue.

While MEDCAMP Health-a-Thon is not a public event, the NEOMED community is encouraged to stop by to listen to guest speakers, view student presentations, or just to offer support for the students as they work throughout the marathon session.

Former Ohio State star running back Maurice Clarett will speak at 11:45 a.m. in Cook Alumni Hall. Clarett will discuss his battles and subsequent recovery from substance abuse. Leaders in the Northeast Ohio health care community will participate in roundtable discussions from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

The MEDCAMP Health-a-Thon will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, July 14 and continue until approximately 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15.
