MEDCAMP Health-a-Thon 2018

Registration is now open for Northeast Ohio Medical University’s MEDCAMP Health-a-Thon 2018! The free event is being offered to students 18 years of age or older who have graduated from high school but have not yet graduated from their undergraduate institution. Applicants must reside in one of the following counties: Ashland, Ashtabula, Carroll, Columbiana, Crawford, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Holmes, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas or Wayne. The event will span about 24 hours, beginning Friday, June 29, 2018 at 12 p.m. and continue through to Saturday, June 30, 2018.

The idea for MEDCAMP Health-a-Thon is like the popular hack-a-thon model. Students will be given a problem to immerse themselves in for a set amount of time to produce a product as a solution. Students will work in teams to form their solutions to the problems presented by health experts. Near the end of the 24-hour timeframe, students will be able to present their solutions to a panel of judges for prizes. MEDCAMP Health-a-Thon will include meals, workshops and various group activities.

First consideration is given to applicants from groups underrepresented in the health care professions. Interested students may apply at www.neomed.edu/medcamp/apply.

For more information, contact MEDCAMP Health-a-Thon at medcamp.healthathon@neomed.edu or 1.800.686.2511 ext. 6580. Application deadline is April 2, 2018.
