Pathways to Pharmacy Offers Inside Look to Profession for High School Students

Do you know a high school student interested in a career in pharmacy or the health professions? NEOMED’s Pathways to Pharmacy program not only offers a close-up look at the profession, but a week of fun activities outside the classroom as well.

The day is filled with hands-on activities to help students understand the roles of the pharmacist, as well as various career paths in pharmacy that may not be so apparent. When the day in the classroom and lab is complete, students head out for some fun, including an escape room, trampoline park, bubble soccer and kayaking. It’s something new each day!

Students also get to know several pharmacists throughout the week. One highlight is a panel discussion where pharmacists discuss a typical day (if such a thing exists for a pharmacist) and the positive and negative aspects of their jobs. Students have the opportunity to ask questions and gain honest feedback about the pharmacy profession.
