To further Northeast Ohio Medical University’s commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, faculty, staff, and guests, the University launched a SafeSpace initiative in 2013. The SafeSpace initiative is designed to provide dedicated resources to members of the LGBTQ+ community at NEOMED, their allies, family, and friends.
Faculty and staff are invited to attend this virtual training session offered by Dr. Bruce Menapace. Understanding LGBTQ+ students’ needs and ways to provide support can lead to many positive outcomes during their time at NEOMED.
Attendees will be invited to sign the Advocate Pledge and receive a SafeSpace sticker for their office.
