Student readiness and emergency response simulation, Aug. 23

Get ready to witness the potential heroes of our community in action! Join us to watch as students put their emergency pre-hospital skills to the test or learn how to be a lifesaver with the support of the Emergency Medicine Interest Group, Global Health Interest Group, WildMed and Stop the Bleed. This immersive experience will focus on handling patient injuries inspired by a gas line explosion, displaying scenarios that hit close to home.

  • When: Wednesday, Aug. 23, from 2-5 p.m.
  • Where: The NEW Center parking lot

The event is proudly hosted in collaboration with University Hospitals, Cleveland Clinic Akron General and Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Hospital, alongside the dedicated professionals of the Rootstown Fire Department. Together, they’ve each crafted two challenging patient cases for students to assess and treat, offering valuable insights into emergency response.

Join us for an engaging day of learning and community empowerment, as we unite to enhance our local readiness and resilience. Rest assured, the event is designed with your comfort and peace of mind in mind. While students will be actively engaged in demonstrating emergency pre-hospital skills and lifesaving techniques, we want to emphasize that the event is intended for educational purposes only. Members of the community are invited to observe and learn from a safe distance, without any involvement in the practical aspects of patient care. Our goal is to provide valuable insights into emergency response and foster a sense of preparedness within our local community. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to a day of informative and reassuring engagement.
