Thomas Mike, M.D., named M2 Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Thomas Mike, M.D., assistant professor of clinical pediatrics, who has been named the College of Medicine’s 2024–25 M2 Teacher of the Year.

Dr. Mike was honored by the Class of 2027 during the M3 Prerequisite to Clinical Curriculum Course Teacher of the Year presentation, held Monday, July 7, in the Great Hall.

Student Curriculum Council representatives Tucker Harvey and Kaitlyn Malek recognized Dr. Mike for his dedication to students and excellence in teaching.

Students praised Dr. Mike for his leadership in implementing a new M2 curriculum, highlighting his flexibility, responsiveness to feedback and genuine concern for student success. They described him as an approachable and supportive educator who not only delivered engaging lectures but also took time to build relationships and advocate for their needs.   • “Not only a phenomenal teacher, he also took our opinions on the new format, incorporated what he could and advocated for us throughout.”
