Understanding the Neurobiology of the Addicted Brain, Jan. 20

Is addiction the outcome of flawed character or is it a disease? The answer to this question is critical if we are going to effectively address the epidemic of opiate addiction and other addictions.

Nicole T. Labor, DO, director of the Addiction Medicine Fellowship at Summa Health System, will discuss addiction as a brain disease. She will help you understand why treatment needs to be comprehensive. While some debate whether patients with addiction need medication assisted treatment or psychosocial interventions like 12 step program or cognitive behavior therapy, Dr. Labor will make it clear that our patients need both.

Dr. Labor is an engaging speaker. You may hear about Superman, Kryptonite and hungry tigers. You will not want to miss her talk.
