Using Assisted Outpatient Treatment to Reduce the Need for Competency Restoration

Mark Munetz, M.D., professor and chair emeritus of the Department of Psychiatry, will present a webinar on the Sequential Intercept Model 3 p.m. Thursday, March 23. The free webinar is sponsored by the Treatment Advocacy Center and SMI Advisors.

Dr. Munetz is the co-developer of the SIM, which has been widely adopted throughout the U.S. and is the basis for work supported by the Bureau of Justice Assistance and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. SIM provides a framework to spur the development of interventions designed to prevent justice involvement for people with severe mental illness.
