V-Week Events, Feb. 13-17

That time of the year is here again; NEOMED hosts V-Week annually to educate the faculty and student body about such topics such as women's health and domestic violence. We are having a series of events from February 13-17: ranging from testimonials to lectures, a women's self-defense workshop, and even a production of The Vagina Monologues.

PLEASE NOTE: Tickets for the The Vagina Monologues will go on sale tomorrow, Feb. 8, for $5 for students ($8 for faculty/non-students) and will be sold in the NEW Auditorium atrium during lunch every day through Feb. 17. You may also buy tickets in Student Affairs during business dollars. Proceeds will benefit the local organization Townhall II in Kent, who provide services for victims of rape, abuse and violence.

The schedule is as follows:

Domestic abuse and sexual violence, especially against women (although it also affects men as well, which is an entire issue in itself), is still an issue in our society today and it is so important that we reflect upon it as a school and embrace these difficult subjects. Both men and women are welcome to attend the weeks events, I hope to see lots of you there! Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.

Warmly,
