Remarks by COM leaders and NEOMED Student Council (NSC) class representatives. NSC students will deliver personal remarks and introduce their class speaker, the Gonfalonian and Commencement hooders. Video recording of the Gaudeamus Igitur poem will be shown. Students and guests will be invited to donate to the traditional 50/50 charity drawing via the @NEOMED-Foundation Venmo account.
11:58 a.m.
The official celebration will begin with a countdown to noon by College of Medicine leaders. Students will receive their official Match results by email promptly at noon.
Noon -12:20 p.m.
Students will open their email and share results with their loved ones. During this time guests will enjoy a slide montage of fourth-year student photos. Students will also be encouraged to post reaction photos and videos to Instagram by mentioning and tagging @neomedcom and #NEOMEDMatch.
12:20 p.m.
The first student name will be pulled randomly by a virtual wheel. The student will announce their match results and the process will continue until all names are pulled. The last student whose name is pulled will receive half of the collection proceeds. The other half will be given to the charity selected by the class.
1:30 p.m.
Closing remarks and adjournment.
M4 students will log into the ceremony via a “Student Only” Zoom link which has already been provided to them. All other guests, faculty, and staff are asked to RSVP by March 17 and a separate livestream link will be emailed to them prior to the ceremony.
