White Coats for Black Lives, June 28

With the countless protest following the murder of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many other innocent black lives, some health care professionals, and medical schools have decided to partake in a "White Coats for Black Lives" protest. There is no secret of police brutality or the health disparities people of color especially Black and Latino/a people experience in America. We, as people of color are fighting to show representation in our communities, but unfortunately our white coats will NOT protect us.

White Coats for Black Lives is an organization whose aim is to eliminate racism in the practice of medicine and recognize racism as a threat to the health and well-being of people of color.

The Black Student Association, Student National Medical Association and Student National Pharmaceutical Association will be hosting a peaceful protest and a kneel for our brother George Floyd. All are welcome. We ask that you all wear mask and black attire along with your white coats. We will meet in the front parking lot of NEOMED.

WHEN: Sunday, June 28 at 2:30 p.m.
WHERE: NEW Center parking lot

We look forward to seeing everyone!
