Why I Walk…A Penny For Your Thoughts

The NEOMED Walking Whales will be participating in the 19th annual National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Walk on Saturday, Oct. 16.

Join your fellow NEOMED community – including the Psychiatry Student Interest Group – and show your support for mental health awareness and advocacy.

Stop by the Department of Psychiatry (B227) and let us know “Why I walk…” Feel free to leave a penny or two – any spare change will do! All proceeds support the NEOMED Walking Whales team at this year’s Summit County NAMI Walk.

WHAT: NAMIWalks Summit County

WHERE: Stile Athletics Field House - University of Akron, 289 S. Union Street Akron, OH

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021 (check in at 8:30 a.m., program at 9:30 a.m., walk at 10 a.m.)

DISTANCE: 5K

All funds raised will go to NAMI Summit County to provide support, education, and advocacy to people with serious mental illness and their families.
