Workshop shares basics of economics for NEOMED's medtech innovators
NEOvations Bench to Bedside, in collaboration with the REDI Zone at NEOMED, is proud to host Fundraising 101 and Healthcare Economics, an educational event presented by Project Medtech.
The program begins at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, in Watanakunakorn Auditorium.
This session is designed for students, innovators and early-stage teams interested in translating medical ideas into viable healthcare solutions by better understanding the business and economic realities of the medtech landscape.
Turning a medical innovation into a successful product requires more than technical or clinical excellence. Securing the right funding and establishing a clear path to payment are two of the most significant hurdles in the U.S. healthcare market. This event will demystify these challenges by providing practical, real-world insight into how medical technologies are financed and ultimately adopted within healthcare systems.
The first portion of the event will focus on Fundraising 101, guiding attendees through the funding landscape. Participants will learn how funding needs to evolve across development stages, who invests at each stage, and what the investment process looks like from an initial pitch through closing a deal. The second portion will address Healthcare Economics and Reimbursement, emphasizing why regulatory approval alone is not enough and how economic value drives adoption.
This event is open to all, including those interested in healthcare innovation, current and past NEOvations Bench to Bedside participants, and anyone looking to better understand the healthcare industry as a whole. Food will be provided for attendees. Join us as we continue building a stronger medical innovation ecosystem in Northeast Ohio and working toward a future where great ideas can successfully become impactful healthcare solutions.
