In the April 17 issue of The Pulse, it was mentioned that Conference Services will begin providing meals to Rootstown Schools and Bio-Med Science Academy families who find it difficult to make ends meet during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are grateful to our community and the local sponsors for providing funding for this important initiative.
We understand some NEOMED staff are working on campus during this time (with more staff joining in the coming weeks). There will not be access to a meal service for staff because the Bistro and Café will remain closed. However, we will offer the opportunity for working staff to purchase meals to take home at the end of their shift. Chef Xavier and Chef Rodney, along with their staff, will provide a delicious hot selection for each day.
Additionally, with current social distancing guidelines, we will not have a register available for payment. We ask that, if you participate, you offer a cash donation towards your meal to cover the cost of the supplies. A collection jar will be available at pick-up with a recommended donation of $5 per meal.
For NEOMED staff interested in participating, please send an email to confservices@neomed.edu indicating the number of meals you would like and the date you will pick them up. Serving days will be Wednesday and Friday beginning April 29th and running through the end of May. Pick up times are between 4-5 p.m. at the NEW Center entrance. Staff in the building may walk over to pick up their meals or drive under the portico for a contact free transfer. The deadline for reservations will be the Friday before each serving week.
