Assistant Director of Student Diversity Named at College of Medicine

The College of Medicine welcomes Iris Mirelez, M.Ed., as the assistant director of student diversity. She will coordinate and implement efforts to recruit, enroll and support historically underrepresented students in medicine, in alignment with the University’s  commitment to access and inclusion. 

With her appointment beginning May 3, Mirelez has brought to NEOMED significant experience serving students. At Kent State University, she served as the director for the One Stop Shop for Student Services, which combines student services related to financial aid, billing and student records. Prior to her time at Kent State, she served in a variety of student-focused administrative roles at Wright State University.

Mirelez holds a bachelor's degree in mass communication and a master’s degree in education and human services, both from Wright State University.
