Behind the Black Student Association: Ikenna Ogwuegbu

A social passport to diversity: That’s what Nigerian-born John (Ikenna) Ogwuegbu calls the Black Student Association (BSA), which welcomes not only Black students but all students from the College of Graduate Studies, College of Medicine and College of Pharmacy.

The Spring 2020 issue of NEOMED’s Ignite magazine is available online, but was not distributed on campus, due to COVID-19. In that issue, Ogwuegbu – who was honored as NEOMED’s 2019 Pharmacy Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Award Recipient – talks about how students from the group have welcomed prospective students and worked to build community on campus.

Students interested in the BSA and other student organizations can visit Presence to learn more.
