Congratulations to Angela Bennett, digital marketing specialist in the Office of Public Relations and Marketing, on being named president of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Akron Area Chapter. Bennett has served on the chapter’s board since 2014, in capacities including vice president, social media committee chair and website chair.
“Through my involvement on the board, I have been able to meet and connect with national figures in public relations and marketing. These connections have since afforded much growth for me, both personally and professionally,” says Bennett.
As president, it is Bennett’s responsibility to work in tandem with the board of directors to determine the strategic direction of the chapter for the year, and to ensure that the chapter is aligned with PRSA’s goals, nationally and regionally. The chapter and Bennett will develop a three-year strategic plan in anticipation of the chapter’s 50th anniversary celebration in 2019.
Bennett says a few of the public relations trade association’s benefits are “meeting and getting to work with so many amazing, like-minded professionals in Northeast Ohio.’’
