Black Men in White Coats Documentary Screening and Virtual Panel Discussion

Black Men in White Coats – A brand-new documentary about the lack of Black male physicians and its impact on the future of healthcare.

As part of NEOMED’s Black History Month programming, we have the pleasure of sharing a new nationally-released documentary titled Black Men in White Coats with the NEOMED community. Those who register on Eventbrite by this Friday will receive a link to view the documentary over a 3-day streaming window commencing Friday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. ET and ending Monday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. ET.  View the official trailer.

Then, on Tuesday, Feb. 23 from 6-7:30 p.m., we are bringing everyone together for a live virtual panel discussion featuring three African American male physicians. During the panel discussion, we will discuss the film as well as the panelists’ journeys to becoming physicians.

This film dissects the systemic barriers preventing Black men from becoming doctors and raises important questions, such as: What challenges do Black boys face? What if we had a medical workforce that actually reflected our patient population? And, who is at fault for this crisis?

Register on Eventbrite by this Friday, Feb. 19 at 5 p.m. Upon registration, you will be emailed a link to view the film as well as a link to attend the virtual panel discussion.
