Call for Presentations for the Psychiatry Research and Scholarly Activities Day

The 20th Annual Research and Scholarly Activities Day, sponsored by the NEOMED Department of Psychiatry, has been scheduled for Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Akron City Hospital. The event will take place from 1-5 p.m. at Akron City Hospital.

The purpose of this program is to bring trainees and faculty in psychiatry, psychology, and related disciplines from NEOMED and affiliated institutions together to promote communication and collaboration in research and other scholarly activities. Typically, the afternoon consists of presentations and posters presented by trainees and faculty members. Presentations can be on current research, literature reviews, interesting case reports, or other issues relevant to our clinical audience. In addition, graduating residents from the NEOMED psychiatry residency program present their research project at this event. While trainees are encouraged to submit presentations, there is a great need for faculty presentations as well.

Faculty are encouraged to use this as a forum to present new or interesting work in which they have been engaged. Oral presentations will be limited to fifteen minutes for trainees and faculty. However, depending on the number of submissions, it may be decided to increase the time for presentations to 20 minutes. If you wish to participate in the program download the abstract submission form below.

The abstract should be brief, 350 words or less, and provide an overview of the presentation. For research presentations, provide an objective, methods, results (if available) and conclusion.

Completed abstracts are to be electronically submitted in Word document format to Wanda Jones at jonesw@summahealth.org on or before April 18, 2016.

Please call 330.344.6440 or email Wanda with any questions.
