Campus-wide power outage scheduled for June 4

WHAT?

Entire campus electrical system planned for shutdown and repair.

WHERE?

Outage will affect ALL buildings on campus.

WHEN?

Saturday, June 4, 2016 fron 6-8 a.m., a second shutdown may occur from noon to 1 p.m.

WHY?

On our incoming electrical service to the campus we have a “RECLOSER” device that is damaged and in need of testing and repairs. Unfortunately, we will have to shut down the campus electrical power for a period of time to safely test and make repair. We are planning to make these repairs Saturday, June 4 at 6 a.m. The electrical power will be off for up to two hours. We will then bring the power back on-line until noon while testing and other repairs are being made. Depending on the test results of the device, we will either turn the electrical power off again to re-connect the device or leave the power on until the device can be scheduled for repair on another to be determined date.

All campus standby/emergency generators will be in operation during the time regular electrical power is off. Please review and make yourselves aware of your standby/emergency electrical needs in your area. i.e. freezers, refrigerators, research equipment, etc.

For questions or concerns please call campus operations 330.325.6193.

Thank you for your cooperation.
