Have you ever wondered what it would be like to look through eyes with vision impairments like cataracts or glaucoma? There’s an app for that! The Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness shared their app, AR Eye, which lets users explore the human eye through augmented reality, at the Aging Eye Summit June 15, 2017.
The vision-simulating app was just one of the many exciting sight-related pieces of information and research shared at the event. The state-wide Aging Eye Summit was hosted in the NEW Center by scientists who collaborate in the University’s Neurodegenerative Disease and Aging research area.
AR Eye explains how our vision works and provides details on parts of the eye, along with the vision simulator that lets users experience what it would be like to have various eye diseases. The app is available for download through the Apple Store and Google Play.
