Celebrating the Campaign that’s Advancing NEOMED

In 2014, NEOMED marked 40 years of education, research and service with a gala celebration. The event was more than a great night of dining and dancing; it was also an opportunity to make an impact on our students’ lives. That evening raised over $300,000 for student scholarships.

One year later, the university publicly announced Shine On: The Campaign for Northeast Ohio Medical University — our first-ever comprehensive fundraising campaign. With a $40 million goal, Shine On set out to address three major priorities – advancing students, advancing innovation and research, and advancing community health.

Since then, NEOMED has had many reasons to celebrate. We’ve transformed campus through individual gifts that enhance student experience; established Education for Service Scholarships to help ease the burden of student debt; and provided quality health care, free of cost, to underserved residents of Portage County through the SOAR Student-Run Free Clinic.

So, let’s celebrate! The entire NEOMED community is invited to the One Shining Evening gala Saturday, Sept. 8. Faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends will join together to celebrate the University’s many successes and the culmination of the Shine On campaign.

The evening will begin with two pre-gala receptions, including one to recognize our Alumni Association Award winners. A dinner with live auctions will culminate in a grand reveal of the total amount raised for Shine On—but that’s not all. The night will continue with a live band, dancing, and more food and drink.

It is sure to be a fun and memorable evening. Join us!
