Center for Student Wellness and Counseling Services Wins Autographed Kevin Love Memorabilia

In August, Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love tasked his Instagram followers with nominating a #GenuineHero who has been an advocate for mental health, or who has made a positive impact on people who live with mental health conditions.

NEOMED’s Center for Student Wellness and Counseling Services (CSWCS) Assistant Director Stephanie Orwick explained that she wanted to recognize her colleagues for their dedication to NEOMED’s student body, so she nominated the team.

The CSWCS was one of six nominees in the nation chosen to receive an exclusive Upper Deck piece of Kevin Love autographed memorabilia, which is now on display in the team’s suite.

“Kevin was moved by your story about the Center for Student Wellness and Counseling Services at NEOMED,” said Matt Holder, sports marketing coordinator for the Upper Deck Company. “Thank you for participating in the #GenuineHero contest and for all that you do to spread awareness about mental health!”

In recent years, Love has gone public about his mental health, symptoms of anxiety and has become a leader in breaking down stigma related to seeking help for mental health concerns.

The CSWCS team invites you to come check out the autographed poster titled “Ring Night.”
