Christian Ritter, Ph.D. appointed vice dean of college of graduate studies

It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Christian Ritter, Ph.D., as vice dean of the College of Graduate Studies (COGS) effective September 1, 2016.  In this new role, Dr. Ritter will have primary administrative responsibility for the College of Graduate Studies including implementing the recently developed COGS strategic plan, overseeing the processes of program accreditation, faculty appointment and reappointment in the College and serving as the Vice-chair of the Graduate Faculty Council, among other responsibilities.

In addition to his role in COGS, Dr. Ritter will continue to serve as professor in the Department of Psychiatry and director of the Community-Based Mental Health Research focus area where he and an interdisciplinary and trans-institutional team conducts social epidemiological and social psychological research targeted toward improving the health and health care of with severe and persistent mental illness. Dr. Ritter also provides research support to the work of the Best Practices in Schizophrenia Treatment (BeST) Center, the Criminal Justice Coordinating Center of Excellence and the Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health, all in the Department of Psychiatry.
