Committed to Primary Care and Serving the Medically Underserved? Apply for the NHSC Loan Repyament Program.

Applications are now being taken for those individuals that would like to apply to the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program (NHSC LRP). The application deadline is by April 5, 2016 by 7:30 p.m. ET.

The NHSC LRP provides an opportunity for primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, certified nurse-midwives, physician assistants, dentists, dental hygienists, and behavioral and mental health providers (psychiatrists, health service psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychiatric nurse specialists, and licensed professional counselors) to provide culturally competent, interdisciplinary primary health care services to underserved populations located in selected Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs). HPSAs can be found in rural and urban communities across the nation. In return, the NHSC LRP assists clinicians in their repayment of outstanding qualifying educational loans.

If you interested in learning more about this wonderful opportunity, feel free to contact Dr. John Boltri, Chair, Department of Family and Community Medicine, jboltri@neomed.edu or Patti Thornborough, director of Area Health Education Center, at pthornborough@neomed.edu.
