NEOMED police officer, Chris Hartlaub, was recently recognized by the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Portage County as Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) officer of the year for 2018. Officer Hartlaub was awarded for practicing the communication and de-escalation skills learned during CIT training in dealing with individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis or who are struggling with addiction. Congratulations to Officer Hartlaub.
