Director of Publications and Communications to Serve as Judge for National Competition

Elaine Guregian, director of publications and communications at Northeast Ohio Medical University, has been selected as a judge for the Association of American Medical Colleges’ national Group on Institutional Advancement (GIA) Awards for Excellence Competition.

Guregian will travel to AAMC headquarters in Washington, D.C., in December for two and a half days of judging and deliberation with other judges from around the country.

The annual GIA Awards for Excellence Competition is a peer-reviewed national competition. It  “recognizes outstanding work by members of the Group on Institutional Advancement (GIA) and their staff for the most creative and effective approaches used to promote academic medicine through alumni relations, communications, development, marketing, and public affairs/community relations programs and projects.”

Among her responsibilities, Guregian is the editor of NEOMED’s Ignite magazine, which has won 30 statewide, regional and national awards in four years.
