I am thrilled to announce that Dr. Jennifer Dougall has accepted the permanent, full time role of NEOMED’s next Director of Counseling and Student Wellness. Ensuring the emotional and psychological well-being through support and outreach is a vital part of the Student Affairs mission. Dr. Dougall will be an amazing asset to our counseling services and will guide additional outreach and prevention education toward comprehensive mental health care and overall student wellness. She will also be overseeing the staff of the Center who manage the student insurance and immunization processes.
Dr. Dougall is no stranger to NEOMED, having served as an FCM medical interviewing seminar instructor/adjunct faculty since 2004 and currently serves as the temporary counselor in the Counseling Center till she moves to the full time Director role. Jennifer’s experience and knowledge stem from her vast working experience as a Behavioral Health Specialist at Summa Health, with the establishment of her own private practice at St. Thomas Hospital, as an employee assistance provider with Impact Solutions, and as adjunct faculty at the University of Akron. She earned her doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from The University of Akron, her BS in Cultural Anthropology from The College of Wooster, and is pursuing certification in Autism Training.
Dr. Dougall’s start date is Monday, June 19 and students may schedule appointments with Dr. Dougall by emailing counseling@neomed.edu. Please join me in welcoming Jennifer to Student Affairs.
