Dr. Paul Lecat appointed assistant dean for students for the College of Medicine

It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Dr. Paul Lecat as assistant dean of students for the College of Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED).

This unpaid appointment provides a secondary title to Dr. Lecat’s current role of clinical educator. Holding the rank of professor in each of three clinical departments (Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Family & Community Medicine), Dr. Lecat will continue to advance the College of Medicine’s efforts to increase integration between basic sciences and clinical sciences as well as enhance the amount of active learning throughout medical school.

The Assistant Dean appointment provides improved alignment with best practices and LCME accreditation standards. More importantly, it affords greater support and visibility to our students. With this additional title, Dr. Lecat will have expanded duties related to student advocacy, engagement at events, and mentorship responsibilities to help foster student satisfaction and success.

Join me in congratulating Dr. Lecat on his appointment.

Jeffrey Susman, M.D.
Dean, College of Medicine
Vice President of Health Affairs Northeast Ohio Medical University
