This marks the first time for a NEOMED graduate, male or female, to be selected to lead the University’s College of Medicine. Dr. Young has served for the last year as the interim appointee in the roles.

Dr. Young is trained in internal medicine and rheumatology, as well as hospice and palliative care medicine. She served as associate medical director at Mercy Health Youngstown, Hospice of the Valley, where she practiced hospice and palliative care from 2010 to 2015.
