John Stilliana, vice president for government and external affairs, and Janet Coon, associate director of government and external affairs, will present a one-hour session on lobbying government officials in a Zoom session from 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, March 24. The event is designed for faculty members.
Stilliana says he and Coon will present specific suggestions about what to expect at each step of the process of contacting elected officials. They’ll talk about the differences in how to approach a legislative aide or state officials on the state level versus the federal level. And they’ll offer tips on how to work effectively with state and federal government agencies.
“We want our faculty to know we’re accessible to them as a resource,” Stilliana said. The virtual setting makes it easier to attend, he said, noting that more faculty than ever turned out for a similar session last fall.
