I am pleased to announce the re-launch of an important communication and professional development initiative for all staff and faculty.
NEOMED’s faculty and staff are part of a tradition of excellence. We are committed to fostering an environment in which diverse professionals are recruited and retained while maintaining an engaged culture that consistently applies our values in everyday workplace situations. Success comes from the collective efforts of people with diverse backgrounds, beliefs and experiences. This program of highly experiential facilitated sessions around the topic of Civil Treatment, will provide practical knowledge and skills to operationalize our commitment to inclusion and civil treatment.
Staff and faculty who manage others have recently experience a full day session entitled Civil Treatment for Leaders. It is now time for employees to experience a half-day session entitled Civil Treatment for Employees. As in prior years, these sessions will explore the following topics:
- How to address a range of workplace issues related to behavior that isn’t in line with our values
- How to improve consistency in making decisions and taking any subsequent action
- How to maintain an environment where all feel valued and respected, especially if speaking up about workplace concerns
We all play a key role in helping the University maintain a workplace where everyone is engaged, productive and treated fairly, therefore it is expected that this initiative will be given priority by all. Please look for additional details from the Office of Human Resources regarding session dates. I hope you will find these discussions inspiring and thought-provoking. Thank you in advance for your participation.
