February is American Heart Month

Today I wear red.

For my mother.
For my grandmother.
For my sister.
For myself.

Why do you GO RED?

Women in NEOMED is showing their support for the American Heart Association’s National Go Red for Women Day today, Feb. 1.

According to the American Heart Association:

  • Cardiovascular diseases cause one in three women’s deaths each year, killing approximately one woman every minute.
  • 90% of women have one or more risk factors for heart disease or stroke.
  • Fewer women than men survive their first heart attack.

The good news? 80 percent of heart disease and stroke events could be prevented. Visit www.goredforwomen.org to learn more. Together, we can change the narrative.

Women’s health is why NEOMED Goes Red.
