First Dinah Fedyna Family Medicine Award Recipient Named

Congratulations to Renee Brumbaugh for being named as the first Dinah Fedyna Family Medicine Award recipient. The rising fourth-year College of Medicine student was honored during a ceremony at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital on Tuesday, June 4.

After Dr. Fedyna was diagnosed with ALS, the Dinah Fedyna Family Medicine Award was established for a NEOMED College of Medicine student studying family medicine.

“I hope that I can carry forward Dr. Fedyna’s aspiration for the community. She does so much for everybody and it seems to me that that's been her mission — caring for people who need it the most. She has so much compassion and I have always aspired to be somebody like her, so I am beyond honored to be the recipient,” says Brumbaugh.
