Flexible Work Arrangement Pilot Program

Human Resources and the Office of the President recognize the increasing demands on our employees’ time both personally and professionally. NEOMED has decided to initiate a pilot program for flexible work arrangements. A flexible work arrangement for the purpose of this pilot program, refers to adjusted work schedules that differ from the usual work schedule that lasts longer than three months. The Flexible Work Arrangement Pilot Program will run from August 1, 2020 through January 31, 2021. All necessary documents pertaining to this pilot program will be available on the NEOMED intranet by August 1, 2020. A pilot program that runs for six full months will allow Human Resources, the Executive Management Team and President Langell to make necessary adjustments before considering the rollout of a Flexible Work Arrangement Policy.

Many employees have expressed over the past year that flexible schedules often provide employees with an increased work-life balance, job satisfaction and less stress and better overall health. We agree! The goal is to improve employee wellness by creating better work-life balance and increase employee retention and recruitment.

We must ensure all faculty and staff who are interested in participating in this pilot program first attend one of the twelve informational sessions via Zoom. As a note, it is beneficial for managers to attend the informational session to ensure they understand this pilot program and are able to answer questions from their employees. To sign up for a session, please contact Senior HR Generalist, Toccara Ball at tball@neomed.edu.
