Giving Day is Coming Soon!

The Blue Fund’s annual Giving Day is back on the schedule, kicking off at noon on Tuesday, June 23, and continuing through noon on Wednesday, June 24.

How to Get Involved

We’re looking for volunteers who will help spread the word on social media leading up to Giving Day and during the 24-hour period of giving. Spoiler alert: There will be prizes for participation! We need your help to encourage the entire NEOMED community to support the University with a donation to the Blue Fund. Encouraging your classmates, colleagues, family and friends to support Giving Day is easy, fun and rewarding.

Surprises and incentives for volunteers and donors include:

  • NEOMED CamelBak water bottles
  • NEOMED sweatshirt blanket
  • NEOMED t-shirts

If you’re interested in becoming a Giving Day 2020 social media ambassador, please email Craig Eynon at ceynon@neomed.edu.

Giving for your Health

This year’s Giving Day takes on special meaning, as the Blue Fund is in the midst of raising an additional $100,000 to be used for student and community support in response to the COVID-19 crisis.

The far-reaching impact of the COVID-19 crisis has demonstrated the vital role NEOMED plays in our region and beyond. NEOMED alumni and students are providing key leadership and supporting our community when it is most needed.

Examples of this can easily be found.

Rajeev Venkayya, M.D. (’91), has been involved in planning for pandemics for years. While serving as the director for biodefense under former President George W. Bush, Dr. Venkayya led a team in creating the National Strategy for Pandemic Influenz.

Second-year College of Medicine student Alexis Schweibinz is one of many students working to keep the community healthy. Schweibinz has been purchasing and delivering groceries for elderly and high-risk individuals in her community, allowing them to stay safe at home during the pandemic.

This is why when you give to the Blue Fund, you give for your health.

Mark June 23 on your calendar, sign up to volunteer, and check The Pulse for more details as we get closer to Giving Day!
