Jessica Zavala, M.P.A., Appointed to Statewide Strengthening & Sustaining Ohio’s Suicide Prevention Coalitions Initiative

Jessica Zavala, M.P.A., manager of the Ohio Program for Campus Safety & Mental Health, a coordinating center of excellence in the Department of Psychiatry, has been invited to serve as a workgroup member of the statewide Strengthening & Sustaining Ohio’s Suicide Prevention Coalitions (SSOSPC) Initiative. The Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services has partnered with the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation, YouThrive, Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs, and the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation to create this initiative. The SSOSPC focuses on the prevention of suicide by enhancing the infrastructure and sustainability of local suicide prevention coalitions and aligning local work with the Suicide Prevention Plan for Ohio and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s seven strategies for preventing suicide.
