Congratulations to third-year College of Medicine student Carmen Javier, who is one of 30 recipients of the competitive Kaiser Permanente Northern California Medical Student Scholarship. The awards are scheduled to be presented at a banquet in the San Francisco Bay area on Saturday, Sept. 12.
Javier is the leader who started the NEOMED chapter of the Latino Medical Student Association.
The Californian said in a letter that she was excited and honored to win an award that would bring her “one step closer to home, family and the Latinx community.” Read more.
