Calling all storytellers!
This year, the Lunar New Year celebration is going virtual on Wednesday, Feb. 17, starting at 6 p.m.! Lunar New Year is an important Chinese holiday coinciding with the new moon in Asia. It is celebrated in many other Asian countries and around the world as well.
The Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) will kick off NEOMED's Lunar New Year celebration with a STORY SLAM! This is a virtual open-mic storytelling experience that is inspired by The Moth’s storySLAM podcast. Do you have a story you would like to share about how you celebrated Lunar New Year, or a memorable experience during the holidays and new year? We hope that by listening to stories, we can widen our perspective and inspire attendees.
The audience will vote on their favorite story, and the winner will receive a prize!
Up to four storytellers will be selected. Tellers will have 5 minutes to share their story. Please sign up by 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15!
For inspiration, listen to an episode of The Moth anywhere podcasts are played and storytelling tips and tricks.
This event is open to all students, faculty and staff! Sign up to tell your story!
