Dear NEOMED Community,
Today from 2-3 p.m., our Demand Response vendor has scheduled a mandatory power reduction for all governmental institutions on this part of the grid. These mandatory reductions help gauge available power that could be shifted to different parts of the grid in emergency situations.
Our payments for Demand Response participation for the remainder of the 2019 season will be based solely on our performance during this scheduled 1-hour reduction should no emergency event be called. We have performed extremely well over the past 2 years.
Campus Operations and Signet, will turn off air handlers and chillers. We ask that wherever possible, office and corridor lights are turned off and any extraneous use of electricity is curbed (fans, copiers, microwaves, etc.).
Please do NOT open windows as all cool air is lost and hot, humid air is allowed in. Keep in mind, this is only for 1 hour.
