Meet the Coaters for the College of Medicine White Coat Ceremony

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, incoming Class of 2024 College of Medicine students won’t be helped into their new white coats by second-year students, as is usually the case. But the traditional White Coat Ceremony – being held virtually at 1 p.m. Friday, July 24 – still honors six second-year students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to the College of Medicine.

Being designated for this honor marks the six coaters as role models for the incoming medicine students.  

The coaters will help read the oath during the virtual ceremony. Since they will not be able greet the incoming first-year students in-person, cards were created with photos of the coaters and some words of encouragement for the Class of 2024.
