The American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation Spring 2017 newsletter highlights NEOMED for not one but two reasons.
Haley Coleman, a third-year College of Medicine student, is a 2016 Family Medicine Leads Emerging Leader Institute scholar. A feature article on page two focuses on Coleman’s achievements in developing a migrant survival website for people traveling through Mexico. Coleman’s idea for the website grew out of her experience on a mission trip to Tapachula, Mexico. Read more her trip in Ignite magazine, Spring 2017.
The issue also announces a $24,993 grant to NEOMED’s Student Outreach to the Area Residents Student Run Free Clinic in a feature article on page four. The clinic has grown exponentially since opening in September 2016, as reported in The Pulse.
