NEOMED Alumni Association Recognizes Doug Moses

Each year, the NEOMED Alumni Association recognizes alumni and other individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership. While award winners are typically honored at the annual Alumni Reunion and Awards Dinner, the event has been postponed until 2021, due to COVID-19. To honor the recipients now as well, the accomplishments of each recipient will be detailed in articles in The Pulse, beginning with Alumni Association Appreciation Award recipient Doug Moses, M.D. (’95), assistant dean of admissions for the College of Medicine.

Dr. Moses has been particularly instrumental in supporting the mission of the Alumni Association by  recruiting, acknowledging and thanking alumni who volunteer their time as admissions interviewers – a key step in the process of shaping each incoming College of Medicine class.

Dr. Moses helped to increase the number of alumni who participate in this important institutional process by reaching out to invite fellow NEOMED graduates. The first year he made the request resulted in a significant uptick in volunteers, with more than 90 new alumni agreeing to serve as admissions interviewers. Dr. Moses also increased communication between departments to ensure that NEOMED properly thanked and recognized the volunteers for their important work.

“Because of Doug’s dedication to the mission of the Alumni Association, we have seen a gratifying increase in engagement from our alumni,” said Craig Eynon, director of alumni relations. “We deeply appreciate his inspiring demonstration of volunteerism.”
