NEOMED Professor Named Summa Health’s Chief Medical Officer

Vivian von Gruenigen, M.D., professor of obstetrics and gynecology, has been named Summa Health's new chief medical officer. Von Gruenigen, who currently serves as the chair of the department of OB/GYN and the medical director for women's health, will replace Dr. Erik Steele starting July 5.

Dr. von Gruenigan is a leader in providing quality healthcare for all women and her most notable accomplishments include: being named one of the “Best Doctors in America” by the Consumer’s Research Council of America, one of “America’s Top Oncologists” by Cleveland Magazine and the first national recipient of the Richard Ireland Award for Innovation and Excellence in the Business of Women’s Health. She is the founder of the blog SummaFlourish™, co-developer of the new Flourish-Women’s Resource App as well as the Flourish Women’s eBook series.
