Elaine Kunzler, a fourth-year student in the College of Medicine, is the first author on a dermatology research article published in JAMA Dermatology May 2, 2018. With Linda S. Hynan, Ph.D. and Benjamin F. Chong, M.D., Kunzler published the article “Autoimmune Diseases in Patients with Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus.’’ May is lupus awareness month!
Kunzler, who is from Wadsworth, OH, matched for a preliminary year in medicine at Summa Health in Akron. Following that, she will complete a dermatology residency at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Kunzler (third from left in photo) was a nominee in the category of Outstanding Student Leader for NEOMED’s 2018 Student Leadership Awards Program.
