NEOMED Team Rises to the Challenge of a 100-Mile Relay

Many of us look forward to sleeping in and relaxing on the weekend, but a group of NEOMED representatives and friends had just the opposite agenda on Saturday, July 29. The team of eight were up at the crack of dawn, ready to take on the Burning River 100-mile relay, an ultra-marathon. “The Runs” persevered through the hills of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Summit and Cleveland Metroparks, and more, to place ninth out of the 40 coed relay teams participating.

“The Runs” were organized by Seth Brownlee, Pharm.D., an associate professor of pharmacy practice; and Christopher Shelby, Pharm.D., an assistant professor of pharmacy practice. Other members of the team: Julie Aultman, Ph.D., a professor of family and community medicine; Christopher Shelby, Pharm.D., an assistant professor of pharmacy practice; Lindsey Loftus, senior development officer; Bob Clarke of Cuyahoga Falls; Chris Nasca of Kent; Jason Tucker of Bath (not pictured); and Susan Nasca of Kent.
